Pertamina CEO Assesses Fuel Quality in Jakarta Gas Stations
In a bustling city like Jakarta, ensuring the quality of fuel dispensed at gas stations is paramount. On March 5, 2025, the CEO of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri, took matters into his own hands by conducting surprise inspections at several Fuel Filling Stations (SPBUs) across Jakarta. The aim was to personally oversee the quality of Pertamina’s petroleum products.
Accompanied by independent organizations PT Surveyor Indonesia and PT TUV Rheinland Indonesia, Mantiri’s impromptu inspections yielded positive results. The fuel quality met the specified technical standards as required.
Simon Mantiri emphasized the importance of these assessments, stating, “Today we conducted tests on Pertamina’s petroleum products. In addition to our regular evaluations with Lemigas, we also utilized surveyors, namely Surveyor Indonesia and TUV Rheinland Indonesia, to ensure that Pertamina’s fuel products adhere to the applicable standards.” This statement came following the inspection visits to SPBU 34.129.02 on Gatot Subroto Street and SPBU 31.128.02 on MT. Haryono Street, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Joining Mantiri during these surprise visits were Acting President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, as well as representatives from PT Surveyor Indonesia and TUV Rheinland Indonesia. These independent entities are responsible for testing, inspecting, and certifying products, technologies, and systems.
Nyoman Susila, President Director of TÜV Rheinland, expressed satisfaction with the measurements conducted on the quantity and quality of Pertamina’s fuel products. “Regarding the density and volume tests we performed at the two gas stations, they met the standards,” remarked Nyoman.
Similarly, Muhammad Chairudin, Vice President of the Strategic Business Division for Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy at PT Surveyor Indonesia, shared his insights. According to Chairudin, the joint evaluations conducted on Pertamina’s fuel products, in compliance with the Directorate General of Oil and Gas regulations, confirmed that Pertamina’s products met the required standards, including in terms of coloration.
Mars Ega Legowo Putra, Acting President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, added that through these joint quality assessments, both independent organizations affirmed that Pertamina’s fuel products adhered to the established regulations.
By ensuring the quality of its products through these assessments, Pertamina aims to guarantee smooth energy services, especially during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H period. The company continues to strengthen coordination with stakeholders to ensure operational reliability and optimize energy infrastructure to meet the needs of the community.
