Local Residents Band Together to Extinguish the Fire
Ribut lived alone, and it is suspected that the fire originated from the kitchen stove, which escalated and engulfed the surrounding area around 1:00 PM. When the fire broke out, local residents joined forces to extinguish it after receiving information through the mosque’s loudspeaker.
“**The fire has been controlled, but the homeowner has passed away. The incident occurred around one in the afternoon. She lived alone,**” said Barokah from the Quick Response Team (TRC) in Kaliangkrik.
Police Confirmation and Investigation
Residents found the victim in the kitchen, leaning but already deceased. Fortunately, the fire did not consume the entire house.
“Yes, she was found in a leaning position, but already deceased,” Barokah confirmed.
Kaliangkrik Police Chief AKP Achirul Yahya confirmed the fire incident, stating, “**The victim was a woman who lived alone without a husband or children. Based on our investigation, this was purely an accident.**”
The police chief also mentioned that the fire was likely caused by the stove flames escalating. “**The flames from the stove grew, and there was wood nearby, causing the fire to spread quickly,**” he explained.
As the community mourns the loss of Ribut, authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire and prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety and the need for vigilance in home environments to prevent such devastating incidents.
