In Bekasi, West Java, the police are on the hunt for the perpetrator behind the murder of a 72-year-old grandmother named Bimih in the Cabangbungin District. Bimih was found lifeless, with her hands, feet, and neck bound with cloth, inside her home turned convenience store on Pulo Rengas Street. The grim discovery was made in the early hours of Monday, February 10, 2025.
Recent revelations shed light on the fact that the suspect had tampered with the CCTV cameras at the scene before carrying out the heinous act on the evening of Sunday, February 9, 2025. “There was CCTV, but it no longer works. The CCTV at the scene was destroyed by the perpetrator,” said Kapolsek Cabangbungin, AKP Basuni, when asked about the incident on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The authorities are diligently investigating to uncover supporting evidence.
The investigation suggests that the late Bimih may have been a victim of a robbery. This suspicion arose after Basuni disclosed that several items belonging to the victim were missing. However, Basuni could not confirm precisely which belongings of the victim were lost. “The missing items include cigarettes and some money in the drawer, but the rest is still under investigation,” he stated.

The chain of events began on Sunday, February 9, 2025, around 11:59 PM, when a resident spotted a man leaving the victim’s shop, which had closed at around 9:00 PM. Shortly after, two other individuals on a motorcycle approached the man who had exited the victim’s store. Suspicious of their actions, a diner at a local eatery directly in front of the victim’s house immediately shouted ‘Thief!’ to alert other residents. “Two people on a motorcycle quickly approached another person and fled after the witness shouted ‘thief’,” explained the eyewitness.
To verify the unfolding events, Basuni mentioned that several neighbors, as well as one of the victim’s nephews and the person who shouted ‘thief’, promptly entered Bimih’s residence.
