MT Gamsunoro Completes Journey from Red Sea to Suez Canal
Jakarta – The ship MT Gamsunoro owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has completed the loading process at the port of Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, and is now leaving the Red Sea area to continue its journey towards the Suez Canal.
Safe Passage Amidst Challenges
Director of Crude and Petroleum Tanker PIS, Brilian Perdana, stated on Thursday (1/2) that the ship is now sailing back towards the Suez Canal before heading to American waters. He expressed gratitude that the entire crew and the ship itself are safe and in good condition.
Brilian explained that MT Gamsunoro, which gained attention for its journey through the Red Sea, is owned by PIS. The ship, built in 2010, is used to transport and distribute crude oil, flying the Indonesian flag, and manned by Indonesian crews.
Strict Monitoring and Coordination
“PIS has been closely monitoring the situation since the Red Sea area heated up, and we continue to monitor the developments. We are also coordinating closely with relevant authorities in each region to ensure that Gamsunoro can sail and operate safely and smoothly,” he elaborated.
According to Brilian, PIS is intensively coordinating with the Singapore Maritime & Port Authority, the Defence Attach̩ of the UAE Embassy, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation РMinistry of Transportation Indonesia, and others.
“We are committed to ensuring that every journey of our ships, such as MT Gamsunoro, can proceed safely and smoothly,” added Brilian.
