Indonesia Signs MoU for 2025 Hajj Preparations: Official
Jakarta – Indonesian Hajj Organizing Agency Head, Mochammad Irfan, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, marking the commencement of preparations for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
The MoU signing, which took place in Jeddah, involved Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar and Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Umrah Minister, Tawfiq bin Fawzan AlRabiah. This agreement outlines important details, including the Hajj pilgrim quota for the upcoming pilgrimage.
Expressing gratitude for the positive response from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, Irfan highlighted the significance of the MoU in laying the groundwork for the successful execution of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, which will be overseen entirely by the Hajj Organizing Agency.
Commitment to Collaboration
Irfan emphasized the mutual commitment between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in ensuring a smooth and efficient Hajj process for Indonesian pilgrims. While some policies remain unchanged, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is currently reviewing various proposals put forth by the Indonesian government, reflecting a collaborative effort to enhance the overall pilgrimage experience.
Strategic Planning for Hajj Season
In addition to the MoU signing, Irfan is set to participate in a Hajj conference and exhibition, where key decisions regarding quality services for this year’s Hajj season will be made. This strategic event plays a crucial role in shaping the preparations and services offered to Hajj pilgrims, ensuring a seamless and fulfilling experience for all participants.
Hajj Pilgrim Quota and Logistics
Indonesia is gearing up to send 221,000 Hajj pilgrims in 2025, with strict limitations on the number of Indonesian Hajj officers set at 2,210 for this year. The logistical arrangements for the pilgrimage involve dividing the pilgrims equally between two major airports in Saudi Arabia, facilitating their arrival and departure smoothly.
As the preparations for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage unfold, the collaborative efforts between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia underscore a shared commitment to ensuring a successful and meaningful Hajj experience for all Indonesian pilgrims.
