Jakarta, December 18, 2023 – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno inspected the readiness of tourist destinations at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) in North Jakarta to welcome visitors during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 holidays.
During his visit to PIK in North Jakarta on Tuesday (12/26/2023), Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno expressed his hope that strict health protocols could be implemented at PIK during this Nataru holiday season, given the spike in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of tourists while also bringing prosperity to businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (UMKM), and creating job opportunities.
Minister Sandiaga suggested affordable public transportation options such as Transjakarta and JR Connection for accessing the Pantjoran area. For those using private vehicles, he recommended checking parking information beforehand.
Transportation Tips and Destination Features
Visitors to the area will have the opportunity to explore interesting locations using electric vehicles. According to Menparekraf, the northern Jakarta area has implemented international standards in terms of visitor safety and comfort. He declared that Pantjoran PIK is ready to welcome visitors during the New Year 2024 holiday season.
Sandiaga described the atmosphere in Pantjoran as reminiscent of San Francisco, particularly enjoyable in the late afternoon. He mentioned that Pantjoran, especially PIK, had attracted 35,000 visitors yesterday, with a total expected number of 100,000 visitors. This makes it a prominent destination that boosts the local economy with increased tourist visits.
During his visit, Menparekraf Sandiaga assessed several destinations in the Pantjoran area, including Pantai Maju, Batavia, COVE, and Pagoda. He highlighted the comfortable atmosphere at these locations, especially as the evening approaches.
