Pertamina Preps for Mudik: Ensuring Energy Resilience during Ramadan & Idulfitri
Jakarta, March 17, 2025 – With the upcoming mudik period on the horizon, Pertamina has officially launched the 2025 Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force starting today, March 17, until April 13, 2025. This task force, led by Pertamina’s President Director along with the Logistics & Infrastructure Directorate and Subholding Directorate, aims to secure energy supplies for the anticipated surge in travel.

Expert predictions from the Ministry of Transportation estimate that around 146.48 million people will be on the move, with approximately 68.1 million travelers opting for private vehicles. To ensure energy resilience during this period, the Pertamina Group is committed to providing top-notch service to meet the demand.

Simon Aloysius Mantiri, Pertamina’s President Director, emphasized that the 2025 Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force is part of Pertamina’s annual routine, aiming to deliver optimal support. Coordination and synergy within the Pertamina Group are crucial to guaranteeing the safe and efficient distribution of energy nationwide, especially during this critical time for travelers.

“Ensuring the best service for those embarking on mudik and celebrating Idulfitri is our primary goal, requiring strategic steps such as operational oversight in the field and CCTV installation at key locations to monitor emergencies,” Simon explained. Additionally, the company is monitoring infrastructure readiness, particularly in preparation for extreme weather conditions.

Preparations for emergencies and extreme weather are essential to avoid disruptions in energy production and distribution. Pertamina personnel remain vigilant at all strategic operation sites to safeguard national energy security, underscoring the company’s unwavering commitment to readiness.

Throughout the 2025 Ramadan and Idulfitri Task Force period, Pertamina, through its Commercial & Trading Subholding PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, ensures that fuel and LPG stocks are maintained securely. With 2,832 24-hour gas stations, 5,801 LPG agents, 211 standby tank trucks, 57 fuel service points, 200 motorbikes, and 26 MyPertamina lounges, the company is well-prepared to meet the demands of travelers.

The MyPertamina lounges, located at toll rest areas, airports, ports, train stations, and tourist spots, offer special services for all family members, while various promotions add an extra touch of delight for customers.

From the Refining & Petrochemical Subholding, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional ensures the safety of crude oil stocks, with refining capacities meeting targets at 1,101 MB/day and refinery operations optimized at around 930 thousand Barrels per Stream Day (MBSD).

Support from the shipping sector is also crucial, with the Integrated Marine & Logistics Subholding PT Pertamina International Shipping preparing 342 tanker ships (299 domestic routes and 43 international routes), along with 10 backup vessels to enhance distribution efficiency via sea routes.

On the gas front, the Gas Subholding PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk is committed to maintaining the safety and reliability of natural gas distribution for over 3,279 Commercial and Industrial customers, 2,537 Small customers, and more than 814,000 Household customers.

By optimizing technology, networks, and integrated infrastructure, the subholding ensures the secure operation of a pipeline network spanning over 33,000 km, 16 CNG stations and MRUs, and 13 LNG Terminals.

Through the New & Renewable Energy Subholding, PT Pertamina Power Indonesia is ready to provide electricity through clean energy-based generators totaling 2,495 Mega Watts. All generators are operating normally and poised to produce energy optimally.

In the upstream sector, the Upstream Subholding PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ensures domestic oil production and lifting are in optimal condition. As of March 2025, oil production and lifting have reached 400 thousand Barrels Oil Per Day. Gas production has hit 2,505 MMSCFD, with gas lifting at 1,780 MMSCFD in March 2025.
