Assessment of President Prabowo’s Leadership Performance in His First 100 Days
In a recent evaluation of President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership performance in his first 100 days in office, the Gerakan Muslim Indonesia Raya (Gemira), an organization affiliated with the Gerindra Party, has expressed its appreciation for the progress made by the administration. According to Gemira’s Secretary-General, Sudarto, President Prabowo has diligently fulfilled his political promises, initiating various priority programs that have been positively received by the public.
Unveiling Political Promises
Since taking office, President Prabowo wasted no time in getting to work. He immediately embarked on a series of activities, including consolidating and unifying all forces, selecting members of his cabinet, and organizing the Red and White Cabinet Retreat to align strategies at his own expense. The implementation of flagship programs, such as the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, has kicked off with the operation of 190 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) across 31 provinces, aiming to alleviate the burden on parents in providing nutritional needs for children.
Economic Empowerment and Food Security Initiatives
President Prabowo’s administration has also taken significant steps towards economic empowerment by forgiving the debts of 67,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) worth Rp 2.4 trillion, benefiting small-scale entrepreneurs like farmers and fishermen. Additionally, the government has prioritized national food security through intensified and extended agricultural practices, including irrigation of millions of hectares of rainfed land and the creation of around 100,000 hectares of new rice fields. The ultimate goal is to achieve food self-sufficiency by 2025, reducing reliance on imports for essential food items like rice, corn, sugar, and salt.
Public Satisfaction and Future Prospects
The Litbang Kompas survey results revealed an 80.9% public satisfaction rate with the first 100 days of President Prabowo-Gibran’s governance, with a 19.1% dissatisfaction rate. Researcher Vincentius Gitiyarko emphasized the high expectations placed on the Prabowo-Gibran administration for the next five years, highlighting the public’s optimism and eagerness for positive change following a decade under the previous leadership.
