Community Support and Economic Development
The TJSL program, orchestrated by Jasa Marga and several SOEs, aims to bolster rural agriculture and enhance community welfare by tapping into local economic potential. The initiative also seeks to make a positive impact on social and environmental aspects to support sustainability.
Expressing gratitude for the support extended to Gunungwungkal’s agriculture, Pati Regent Sudewo conveyed his appreciation to Jasa Marga and the other SOEs for their attention to the region. He expressed hope that the Durian seedlings provided would uplift the economic status of Pati’s farming communities.
“On behalf of all residents and farmer groups in Gunungwungkal, I extend my thanks to everyone who contributed to the successful implementation of this TJSL program related to agriculture. With this assistance and our guidance, along with professional oversight from Mas Agus Widodo, and the dedication of village heads and farmers, I believe Pati will soon boast the iconic Black Thorn Durian and Musang King for Indonesia,” Sudewo remarked.
Meanwhile, local Durian farmer Agus Widodo urged fellow farmers and the people of Pati to embrace the spirit of commitment in cultivating the Black Thorn Durian and Musang King seedlings provided through the SOEs’ TJSL program. The aim is to ensure that the agricultural produce brings prosperity to the community.
Empowering Farmers and Promoting Sustainability
Through this assistance program, Agus encouraged farmers to plant and nurture the Durian seedlings until they bear fruit. Emphasizing the need for perseverance and dedication, he highlighted the importance of caring for the trees, which typically take 4-5 years to yield fruit.
“Let’s not waste this opportunity. Our task is to nurture these seedlings until they bear fruit. It may require long and challenging efforts, but with proper care, in 4-5 years, we can harvest together. If the farmer groups require assistance, I am ready to support them, having personally experienced six Durian harvests,” Agus explained.
In a separate statement, Lisye Octaviana, Head of Corporate Communication and Community Development Group at Jasa Marga, expressed the company’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the environment. This dedication is demonstrated through empowerment programs, such as training sessions, SME bazaars, and other initiatives aimed at boosting productivity in local regions.
The TJSL program stands as a testament to Jasa Marga’s collaborative efforts with various stakeholders to generate positive outcomes that align with the company’s vision as a trailblazer for sustainable toll roads in Indonesia. The distribution of tree seedlings not only fosters a productive environment but also solidifies Jasa Marga’s contribution to a more advanced and sustainable future for the agricultural sector.
By fostering partnerships and empowering local communities, Jasa Marga and its collaborating SOEs are paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable future for Indonesia’s agricultural landscape.
