The Health Ministry of Indonesia recently received the prestigious ASIK Award at the ASEAN Digital Awards for its outstanding digital health transformation efforts. The Gold Award in the public sector category was presented to the ministry in recognition of its innovative Sehat IndonesiaKu (ASIK) Application.

Setiaji, the ministry’s expert staff for health technology and chief of the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), expressed his gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the significance of ASIK in revolutionizing public health data recording within the national health ecosystem known as SATUSEHAT. This transformative application has already been embraced by an impressive 98.6 percent of health centers across Indonesia, showcasing its widespread impact on integrated health services.

ASIK’s success can be attributed to its seamless integration with the national health information system, enabling the recording of vital statistics such as over 247 million vaccination data, 134 million non-communicable disease screenings, and 42 million weighing measurements for young children up to 5 years old. Setiaji proudly declared that the launch of ASIK on May 18, 2022, has significantly enhanced the quality of health data and streamlined healthcare services for the community.

During the award ceremony held on January 16, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, Setiaji acknowledged the dedicated efforts of cadres and healthcare workers stationed at integrated health posts and health centers who wholeheartedly embraced ASIK to benefit the public. He also commended the tireless work of the Ministry of Health’s Digital Transformation Office (DTO) team, specifically highlighting the exceptional contributions of Dewi Nur Aisyah and Karina Kusumawardani, who played vital roles in navigating a rigorous assessment by esteemed judges from ASEAN, Japan, Australia, and Poland.

ASIK’s acclaim extended beyond the ASEAN region, garnering praise in the OECD’s Global Trends in Government Innovation 2024 report as an innovative digital application that enhances efficiency in public services. This recognition further solidifies the Health Ministry’s position as a leader in health digital transformation, with a remarkable track record of winning over 13 national and international awards in the past three years, including the GovTech Prize 2024, AAAH Award 2024, and TOP Digital Awards 2024.

The continuous success of ASIK underscores the Ministry of Health’s unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare services through cutting-edge digital solutions. As the world increasingly relies on technology to improve public health outcomes, initiatives like ASIK set a high standard for innovation and excellence in the digital health landscape.
