**Government Considers Work-From-Anywhere Plan for Nyepi and Eid Holidays**
Jakarta – In light of the upcoming Silence Day (Nyepi) and Eid-al Fitr holidays, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar and Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi have come together to discuss a work-from-anywhere (WFA) strategy to address the expected surge in homecoming traffic.
Agreement on WFA Plan
During their meeting, Minister Umar expressed agreement with the proposed plan, emphasizing the importance of allowing people to celebrate the holidays in their hometowns. Minister Purwagandhi suggested implementing the WFA plan from March 24-27, 2025, as a means to alleviate congestion during the homecoming period and provide more flexibility for travelers before Eid.

With Nyepi Day falling on March 29 and Eid-al Fitr predicted to occur on March 31, Minister Purwagandhi highlighted the potential of the WFA policy to reduce the strain on transportation systems during these back-to-back holidays. He noted that several agencies, including the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, have already successfully implemented WFA for a significant portion of their workforce. The plan is to conduct a survey to determine which sectors can effectively adopt WFA practices.
