Brigadier General Hendrawan Ostevan Found and Evacuated in Marunda Waters
Brigadier General (Ret.) TNI Hendra Hendrawan Ostevan, who was reported missing, has been found by a joint team comprising Basarnas, Ditpolairud Polda Metro Jaya, North Jakarta Metro Police Resort, and Tanjung Priok Police Station. The team discovered the general’s car not far from where a body was found at the Marunda Pier in Cilincing, North Jakarta.
Discovery and Evacuation Efforts
The car believed to have been driven by Brigadier General TNI retired, which was found to be Toyota Vios B 1606 LB, was located around 10 am this morning. The search efforts of the joint team bore fruit, with the vehicle being retrieved from the seabed. The car is now undergoing a thorough examination to uncover evidence related to the victim’s death, as confirmed by the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on Saturday (1/18/2025).
Ade mentioned that the car will undergo laboratory examination by the Polri Forensic Laboratory. Authorities stated that CCTV footage at the location showed the retired one-star high-ranking TNI officer driving his car.
CCTV Footage Details
The investigation revealed that the individual entered the Marunda KCN Pier at 00:35 WIB. The car continued to drive around Kade 07-08 until reaching the end of the Marunda KCN Pier. The CCTV footage showed the victim’s car driving along Kade 07-08 to the end of the pier before falling into the sea, according to Ade Ary.
It remains unclear why the victim drove to the end of the pier. However, authorities have already been in communication with the victim’s family through the Tim Gakkum of the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Ditpolairud team.
