Celebrating 11 Years of Pertamina Internasional EP with the Theme Elevate the Energy
Jakarta, 18 November 2024 – PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP) Regional Internasional Subholding Upstream Pertamina celebrates its 11th anniversary with a gratitude event themed “Elevate the Energy.” Held at the Yudhistira Ballroom in the Patra Jasa Jakarta building, this event marks over a decade of contributions and innovations in the energy industry, as well as a commitment to continuously enhance its contribution to national energy resilience.
Since its establishment in 2013, PIEP has evolved into a key player in the energy sector, with various strategic projects spanning across 11 countries. The Main Director of PIEP, Jaffee A Suardin, expressed, “The theme ‘Elevate the Energy’ reflects our spirit to innovate continuously and provide sustainable energy solutions. We are committed to improving operational efficiency and expanding our portfolio.”
Embracing Innovation and Sustainability
This theme signifies developing positive energy from the PIEP workforce and resources towards a better direction, providing support for national energy resilience through the development of oil and gas operational work areas abroad, both organically and inorganically. During the event, the CEO of Pertamina Hulu Energi Subholding Upstream, Chalid Said Salim, appreciated PIEP for its significant contributions to increasing oil and gas production, successful lifting opportunities in Venezuela until May 2025, and various strategic initiatives such as fiscal improvements and gas prices.
He emphasized that PIEP in Subholding Upstream Pertamina plays two critical roles. First, as Pertamina’s representation abroad, specifically in the upstream oil and gas sector. Second, as an agent/business intelligence monitoring global dynamics in technology and business, enabling Pertamina to obtain strategic information quickly to support decision-making.
Striving for Excellence
Chalid hopes that PIEP can continue its operations optimally in international regions while strengthening relationships with stakeholders to streamline every activity. “We always echo the mission to bring the barrel home, while ensuring the Indonesian flag continues to fly high on the international stage,” he concluded.
PIEP has successfully managed various energy assets abroad, including in Algeria, Iraq, Malaysia, and several other countries. This achievement not only enhances energy production but also strengthens Pertamina’s position on the international stage.
One significant milestone celebrated is the success in achieving Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) in the MLN field in Algeria for over 11 years. This is evidence of PIEP’s commitment to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) and excellent operational performance.
In October last year, PIEP officers received the Dharma Karya Utama award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for innovations acknowledged by partners in Malaysia. This award recognizes dedication in creating innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
Community Engagement and Social Responsibility
Earlier in 2024, PIEP successfully secured the SK510 exploration block in Sarawak, Malaysia, which has significantly contributed to the Upstream Subholding portfolio. Manager Relations at PIEP, Dhaneswari Retnowardhani, added, “In this gratitude event, we want to appreciate all Officers, partners, and stakeholders who have contributed to our journey.” She mentioned that on the 11th anniversary, PIEP continues to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.
One main focus is education for children with special needs, both domestically and internationally, such as in Malaysia. These programs are designed to provide better access to education and support the development of children with special needs so they can achieve their full potential.
The anniversary celebration activities include various events, such as OlymPIEP, a sports activity for Officers, charity donations, and an Inspirational Talk with speaker Rene Suhardono.
