**Tragedy Strikes Desa Sumolawang: Funeral of Quran Teacher and Child Following House Explosion**

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the bodies of Luluk Sudarwati (41) and her son, Kaffa (3), victims of the explosion at the residence of Aiptu Maryudi in Desa Sumolawang, Mojokerto, East Java, were laid to rest at the local public cemetery. The funeral procession for Luluk Sudarwati, known in her village as a Quran teacher, was a somber affair, attended by neighbors, relatives, the parents of the deceased, and the husband of the deceased, M. Khodi. The burial proceeded smoothly under clear skies.

### A Tragic Incident Unfolds
The tragic incident occurred while Luluk Sudarwati was putting her feverish son, Kaffa, to sleep in a room whose wall was adjacent to Aipda Maryudi’s residence, which exploded. Luluk and Aipda Maryudi were cousins. At the time of the explosion, Khodi, Luluk’s husband, was working in the fields around 8:00 AM.

### Mourning the Loss
Khodi, who was informed by neighbors about the explosion at his brother-in-law’s house, Aipda Maryudi, expressed his disbelief and sorrow during the burial ceremony of his wife and son at the local cemetery. He recounted the moment he rushed home from the fields, desperately searching for his wife and child.

Regarding any premonitions before the tragedy struck, Khodi mentioned that he had no inkling of what was to come. “I had no premonitions at all,” he shared with the media.

### A Heartbreaking Reality
Tragically, Luluk was unable to escape with her son before succumbing to the impact of the building materials from the explosion. Khodi, in his grief, expressed his acceptance of the situation and his decision to leave the matter in the hands of the authorities. “I will leave it to the police to handle,” he concluded.

In moments of loss and tragedy, communities come together to support one another. The pain of losing a loved one in such a sudden and catastrophic manner is immeasurable. As we reflect on the fragility of life, let us cherish the moments we have with our family and friends, for tomorrow is never promised. May the souls of Luluk Sudarwati and Kaffa rest in peace, and may their family find solace in this difficult time.
