Legal Counsel Denies Involvement in 30 Km Sea Fence Dispute in Tangerang Waters Linked to PSN PIK 2

In a recent development in Tangerang waters, legal counsel Muannas Alaidid representing the developer of the National Strategic Project (PSN) Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2, has vehemently denied any involvement of his client in the construction of a 30.16-kilometer sea fence.

According to Alaidid, the developer of PSN PIK 2 was not responsible for installing the sea fence, as he deemed it highly unlikely for them to carry out such an installation. The real developer behind PSN PIK 2 is PT Agung Sedayu Group, founded by Sugianto Kusuma, also known as Aguan.

Alaidid further explained that the bamboo sea fence was actually a regular seawall initiative by the community, designed to break waves and utilized by local residents as fish ponds nearby. Additionally, the bamboo seawall was said to be utilized for containing waste, similar to the situation in Muara Angke, and could also serve as a boundary for coastal residents whose land is affected by erosion.

Legal Counsel’s Perspective

In a statement to Tribunnews, Alaidid emphasized that there was no connection whatsoever between the developer and the sea fence, as the location of the fence did not fall within the PSN or PIK 2 area.

Police Response and Action

Meanwhile, the Chief of the Marine Police (Kakorpolairud Baharkam Polri), Irjen M Yasin Kosasih, has announced plans to dismantle the illegal sea fence in Tangerang waters, Banten. This decision was made in response to complaints from fishermen whose activities have been disrupted due to the presence of the sea fence.

Yasin Kosasih highlighted that if the sea fence posed a threat to public order, particularly by disrupting fishermen, then it should be dismantled promptly. He also mentioned that the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) had already taken steps to seal off the area, within their jurisdiction.

Support for Ministry’s Actions

Yasin reiterated the Marine Police’s full support for the actions taken by the KKP, emphasizing their commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that public interests are safeguarded.

This ongoing dispute over the sea fence in Tangerang waters underscores the importance of clarifying responsibilities and addressing community concerns to maintain harmony and order in coastal areas. As legal battles continue and authorities take steps to resolve the issue, it remains crucial to prioritize the well-being of local residents and preserve the marine ecosystem for future generations.
