However, the proliferation of counterfeit oils in the market poses a serious challenge that needs to be addressed to protect consumers and preserve the industry’s reputation.
Werry Prayogi, the CEO of Pertamina Lubricants, emphasized the company’s responsibility to ensure consumers receive genuine and quality oil products. He highlighted the detrimental effects of counterfeit oil cases on consumers, the country, and the industry as a whole. Prayogi voiced full support for law enforcement efforts to tackle existing cases of counterfeit oils and pledged to take strict action against perpetrators.
Sigit Pranowo, Chairman of the Indonesian Lubricants Association (Aspelindo), echoed the sentiment, describing oil counterfeiting as a crime that harms multiple parties, including consumers, manufacturers, and the nation. Nurudin, the Quality Manager at Pertamina Lubricants, issued a warning about specific cases where engine damage could occur directly, such as with diesel oils lacking additive detergent or dispersant. Similarly, for industrial lubricants with specialized specifications, like compressor lubricants, the use of fake oils can instantly damage the lubrication system.

1. QR Code on Anti-Counterfeiting Physical & Digital Labels: Each bottle features a unique 9-10 character QR code on the label sticker. Scanning the QR code directs consumers to the LUBES ID website, displaying product information, QR number, batch code, scan count, and location. Consumers should verify the accuracy of this data.
2. Hologram Seal on Bottle Cap: An original hologram with fine dot characters is visible at a 45-degree angle.
3. Batch Number on Bottle Cap and Neck: An 8-digit batch number is positioned vertically and parallel on the cap and neck.
4. Triple Layer Bottle Technology: The inner color of the bottle differs from the outer color when the cap is opened.
Pertamina Lubricants urges the public to purchase oils from trusted sources like Pertamina gas stations, Fastron Auto Service workshops, Enduro Motor Service, and other reputable authorized workshops. Additionally, all Pertamina oil products are formulated using reliable human resources, technology, production facilities, and R&D.
