Success of Seismic Survey in 2024: Elnusa’s Capabilities in Supporting Oil and Gas Exploration
Jakarta, December 16, 2024 – PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa, IDX: ELSA), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) under the Subholding Upstream Pertamina, has successfully completed various seismic survey works throughout the year 2024.
Key Achievements in Seismic Surveys
Elnusa, as a core business of the company, plays a crucial role in supporting the exploration and development of the national oil and gas upstream sector through seismic surveys. During this period, Elnusa has successfully completed several major seismic surveys in strategic areas of Indonesia.
Deputy for Exploration, Development, and Area Management of SKK Migas, Benny Lubiantara, previously stated that the projected number of oil and gas exploration well drillings was 57 wells in 2023, which then increased to a target of 97 wells in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, drilling targets are expected to exceed 100 wells, indicating a continuous increase in seismic survey projections. Elnusa is ready to play a contributory role in line with its seismic competence, which has maintained a good reputation over the years.
Major Projects Completed by Elnusa
One of the significant projects successfully completed by Elnusa this year was the 2D Amalia survey with Pertamina EP as the client. This program, which began in February 2024, covered an area spanning 234,000 KM/5,200 Shot Points in the districts of Muara Enim, Ogan Komering Ulu, and Lahat. The survey included sub-districts like Lawang Kidul, Tanjung Agung, Lubai Ulu, and Penukal Abab and was finalized in July 2024.
Another noteworthy project was the 2D Amalia Extension survey, conducted in collaboration with Pertamina Hulu Energi, which covered an area of 155,000 KM/2,184 Shot Points. Focused on the districts of Muara Enim, Ogan Komering Ulu, and Lahat, with a total coverage of 51 villages, this project was completed in September 2024.
Additionally, the 3D Balam Southeast survey conducted for Pertamina Hulu Rokan showcased Elnusa’s excellent performance. Encompassing an area of 303 sqKM/16,742 Shot Points in Rokan Hulu Regency, the survey started in September 2024 and concluded by April 2025.
