In a bid to support the development of Indonesia’s animation industry, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Vice Head of the Creative Economy Agency (WamenEkraf/WakaBekraf) Irene Umar urges the Indonesian Animation Industry Association (AINAKI) to strengthen collaboration.
At the AINAKI 2024 National Congress at Arosa Hotel in Jakarta on Sunday (10/11/2024), WamenEkraf Irene Umar commended AINAKI for their role and commitment in developing the domestic animation industry. The government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has identified the creative economy as a new growth engine to drive national economic growth.
**Government’s Focus on Creative Economy**
President Prabowo emphasized the need for a new growth engine, highlighting the importance of creativity as a valuable resource alongside natural resources. Wamen Irene highlighted the significant role of creativity in achieving economic goals and job creation, emphasizing Indonesia’s high level of creativity.
To achieve these targets, the Ministry of Creative Economy (KemenEkraf) will implement various programs based on comprehensive data analysis. Wamen Irene stressed the importance of accurate data for decision-making by collaborating with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas to strengthen collaboration in developing creative economy data and measuring strategic indicators.
**Importance of Data and Collaboration**
Wamen Irene emphasized the significance of data accuracy and the role of organizations like AINAKI in providing crucial data, especially in the animation industry. AINAKI plays a vital role in representing creative industry players in Indonesia, focusing on developing, enhancing quality, and marketing local content to dominate both the local and global markets.
AINAKI’s programs aim to position Indonesia as the largest market and producer of multimedia content/IP in Southeast Asia, enhance the quantity and quality of local content/IP for local and international markets, and improve the number and capabilities of creative and multimedia experts to produce high-quality IP products.
**Commitment to Industry Growth and Collaboration**
With each step impacting industry players, Wamen Irene assured a meticulous approach, mapping out strategies and collaborating with other associations. AINAKI, under the leadership of Daryl Wilson for the 2024-2029 term, expressed readiness to collaborate and contribute to strengthening Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem, particularly in the animation subsector.
In a newly structured leadership, AINAKI plans to enhance collaboration with foreign associations to capitalize on various opportunities. The presence of Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Creative Product at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf), Muhammad Neil El Himam, alongside WamenEkraf Irene Umar, signifies a unified effort towards industry growth and collaboration.
