TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – So, like, there’s this whole thing going on with actor Jonathan Frizzy (JF) getting caught up in this vape cartridge distribution case with etomidate (some hardcore drug) being brought into Indonesia from overseas.
Airport Police Chief of Soekarno-Hatta, AKBP Ronald Sipayung, gave a detailed rundown of JF’s involvement until he was declared a suspect. The whole thing started with the Customs Duty officer at Soetta Airport coordinating with the Narcotics Unit at Soetta Police Station about a passenger with the initials BTR who was detained after arriving from Malaysia.
BTR was found carrying etomidate in his bag/suitcase. Then, like, it all led to another suspect, a woman with the initials ER, also getting arrested,” Ronald said. The investigation continued until the name of public figure JF came up, who apparently played a role in creating a WhatsApp group.
“So, like, they made this WhatsApp group with all the suspects – ER, JF, and BTR. That’s where they communicated and planned how to sneak in these vape cartridges or etomidate,” he explained. JF also provided information about the accommodation or hotel in Kuala Lumpur before bringing it to Jakarta.
Ronald revealed that JF was responsible for monitoring and controlling the situation. According to him, JF believed that the other suspects would handle the vape cartridges or etomidate until they could be cleared by Customs.
With the development of the two suspects, the police managed to capture a third suspect with the initials EDS. EDS was known to be abroad, specifically in Thailand.
Alongside the case involving Jonathan Frizzy, the Customs Duty at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, with the Narcotics Unit of Soetta Airport Police Station, seized 881 etomidate cartridges as evidence. Four cases were transferred from Customs on March 13, 2025.
