Senior Diplomat Hasjim Djalal Passes Away
Jakarta – Prof Dr. Hasjim Djalal, a former diplomat, has passed away today on Sunday (12/1/2025). This heartbreaking news was announced by Hasjim’s son, also a former Foreign Minister, Dino Pati Djalal.
Dino shared, “Innalillahi Wainnailaihi Rojiun. With deep sorrow, we announce that Ambassador Prof Dr. Hasjim Djalal, a senior diplomat and advocate for the archipelago’s vision, has taken his last breath on Sunday, January 12 at 16:40 at RS Pondok Indah.”
Hasjim peacefully passed away in the presence of his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Dino expressed gratitude for the support, friendship, and prayers extended to Hasjim throughout his life.
The late ambassador will be laid to rest at the funeral home on Jalan Taman Cilandak III no 2, Cilandak Barat (near MRT Fatmawati) from tonight until tomorrow, Monday, January 13, 2025, at 13:00 WIB. Details about the burial location will be shared later.
