Prabowo’s Call for Appreciation for MBG Program
In a recent address, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of not expressing gratitude towards him for implementing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. The President believes that providing nutritious meals to children is a fundamental duty that comes with the position.
During the inauguration of the National Electricity Strategic Project in Sumedang, West Java, on Monday, January 20, 2025, Prabowo stated, “I ask all teachers for help. I appreciate it very much, but there is no need to thank Mr. Prabowo. This is my duty as President. This is my obligation. So, no need to thank me.”
Program Motivation
President Prabowo emphasized that the MBG program was not initiated to seek recognition. The government implemented the program because it was deemed highly relevant at present. “So, I don’t need it anymore. I appreciate it. Don’t thank Prabowo Subianto. This is our duty. We were chosen by the Indonesian people to work for the people. Thank you,” he expressed.
Apology to Parents and Future Expectations
Furthermore, President Prabowo extended his apologies to parents because the MBG program has not yet been fully rolled out across all regions of Indonesia. “Therefore, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, apologize. To all parents, and all children who have not received it,” he conveyed.
Despite the current limitations, the President remains optimistic that by the end of 2025, the program will reach every child in Indonesia. “But I believe that by the year 2025, by the end of 2025, all Indonesian children will be able to have nutritious meals,” he affirmed.
Looking Beyond Gratitude
President Prabowo’s message underscores the essence of public service and the commitment to fulfilling responsibilities without seeking personal accolades. The MBG program serves as a vital initiative to address nutritional needs among children, reflecting the government’s dedication to the well-being of the nation’s youth.
As we navigate through various societal challenges, it is crucial to acknowledge the efforts made by leaders and policymakers in enhancing the welfare of the community. While expressions of gratitude are valued, recognizing the inherent duty of public officials to serve the people is equally significant.
This call for appreciation from President Prabowo sheds light on the selfless nature of governance and the collective responsibility shared by all citizens in fostering a healthier and more prosperous society. Let us reflect on the essence of service and compassion as we strive to build a better future for generations to come.
