President Prabowo Subianto was like, “Yo, check it out, Danantara Investment Management Agency could totally handle over US$1 trillion in assets.” He said this after a meeting to boost teamwork between Danantara and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) that fall under its watch.
“If we really think about all the assets we got, we’ll see that our country is ballin’. Danantara is about to hit over US$1 trillion in asset value—a goldmine that can be a huge boost to our national financial game, if we play our cards right,” he dropped the knowledge in Jakarta on Monday.
The President was all about stressing the importance of being pro, transparent, and putting in the hustle to up the value of Danantara’s assets, which are currently sitting at around US$982 billion.
He made it clear that the riches handled by the investment agency are like a treasure for the nation that must be used wisely and protected with legit and clear systems.
“Let me make it crystal clear that this cash is our nation’s wealth, and it needs to be handled with a system that’s clear and strict,” he kept it real.
Prabowo also pointed out that the estimated value of Danantara’s assets shows just how much economic juice Indonesia has going on.
He called out all the directors of SOEs linked with Danantara to ditch the old ways of doing things and get with the program of responsible and results-driven asset management.
“In the name of our peeps and the nation, I’m telling all the directors to go all out and leave behind those outdated practices that ain’t doing us any favors,” he dropped the mic.
At the same time, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, who is also the CEO of Danantara, was like, “Yup, I’m vibing with what the President said about the agency’s asset value.” He mentioned that the estimated worth of Danantara’s assets comes from the government’s plan to hand over the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium Complex to the agency.
Right now, the complex is under the State Secretariat Ministry’s watch, and the state assets tied to it were valued at about US$25 billion, as per data from eight years ago, he spilled the tea.
