A middle-aged man identified only as D (59) fell victim to a gang of robbers pretending to be leasing agents in East Jakarta. The incident took place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 4:30 AM local time on Rawa Binong Street, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

According to Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, the victim was driving at the scene when he was surrounded by eight individuals on four motorcycles. They threatened him with a machete and forcibly took his motorcycle and mobile phone.

As a result of the robbery, the victim lost one Samsung M15 5g phone, three leasing authorization letters, two copies of the motorcycle registration (STNK), and the vehicle ownership document (BPKB). The total value of the stolen items amounted to Rp17 million.

The victim promptly reported the incident to the Cipayung Sector Police. “The case is being handled by the Cipayung Sector Police,” he added.
