The journey of Indonesian women has undergone a significant transformation since the era of Kartini. Now, in the challenging energy industry, that spirit is embodied in the strong women of PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa). They are not just symbols of empowerment, but also the forefront in ensuring the continuity of operations, technological innovation, and high safety standards across the company’s business lines.
In the midst of drilling rigs, control rooms, and strategic meetings, the Kartini of Elnusa stand equal. They not only prove that the energy world is no longer dominated by one gender but also show that inclusivity is the key to company excellence and sustainability. Today’s Kartini don’t always wear kebaya or write long letters for change. At Elnusa, they wear helmets, safety shoes, and carry strategic maps, navigating operational areas with one goal in mind: to safeguard national energy resilience.
Mutia Yusri Ristanti, as the Well Integrity Engineer of PT Sigma Cipta Utama (SCU), a Subsidiary of Elnusa, is a real representation of Kartini Elnusa. In her role, she ensures the safety and sustainability of oil and gas operations by maintaining well integrity. “The spirit of Kartini is reflected in every step I take as a female engineer. I also prove that women can be relied upon and contribute significantly in the male-dominated engineering field,” said Mutia.
Meanwhile, Andini Maheswari, serving as a Project Engineer at Elnusa, also contributes to the continuity of strategic energy projects. “Women are figures of civilization. Today’s Kartini never shy away from being strong individuals and leaders. As a Project Engineer, I strive to synergize and collaborate in executing projects that support national energy resilience,” she said.
From a safety perspective, Inri Devanny Pinatik, HSSE Officer at PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN) in TLPG Amurang, one of Elnusa’s Subsidiaries in energy sales and distribution and logistics services, plays a role in maintaining safety standards in the field. “Today’s Kartini must believe that we can achieve our dreams by being a significant part of stable and sustainable energy availability,” expressed Inri.
Hera Handayani, Director of HR & General Affairs at Elnusa, stated, “We believe that Elnusa’s progress cannot be separated from the important role of women throughout the organization. Amidst the increasingly complex dynamics of the energy industry, the Kartini of Elnusa stand as pillars of resilience, innovation, and collaboration. They not only perform functional roles but also become agents of change that inspire others. We are committed to creating an equal and inclusive growth space so that every woman at Elnusa can develop and provide their best contributions to national energy resilience.”
This commitment aligns with the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 5 on gender equality. With a strong commitment to gender equality and the development of female talent, Elnusa continues to cultivate a work environment that supports the growth of new Kartini. Women who not only dream but also drive change.
