Inklusi Program by Pertamina Empowers Difabel Community in Ubud –

Ubud, Bali, December 24, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subholding PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN) Jatim Balinus, the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) Ngurah Rai operating unit, has initiated the “Program Sahabat Disabilitas Ubud”.

As part of the Sobat Istimewa program, which aims to empower the disabled community to be more independent and competitive, Pertamina has been capacity-building the group of disabled individuals at Yayasan Cahaya Mutiara Ubud.

VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that 42 Sobat Istimewa individuals working at the foundation have been receiving support from Pertamina since 2023. This support is aimed at enhancing their skills, boosting their self-confidence, and improving their capabilities.

Fadjar emphasized that Sobat Istimewa is a community that Pertamina cares deeply about, aligning with their inclusive programs as a sustainable company. Pertamina encourages Sobat Istimewa to become self-reliant, excel in their personal development, and even contribute to the nation’s progress.

The assistance program provided by Pertamina at Yayasan Cahaya Mutiara Ubud includes capacity development through training in sewing, digital marketing, and financial management. Additionally, Pertamina has improved infrastructure and offered various forms of support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) run by Sobat Istimewa.

Through this program, Fadjar revealed that businesses have generated an average annual revenue of Rp60 million. Furthermore, nine Sobat Istimewa individuals have entered the workforce, and 16 have achieved success in their respective fields.

One of these success stories is Nengah Wani, a member of Yayasan Mutiara Ubud since 2018, who has honed her skills in traditional Balinese dance and modern creations.

With the support from Pertamina, Nengah and her peers have found motivation to grow and develop. This program has also helped dispel societal stigmas surrounding the disabled community.

Nengah Wani was even a performer during a visit by Pertamina’s CEO to the Energi Berdikari Village (DEB) Uma Palak Lestari in North Denpasar, Bali. At the event, Nengah and other dancers from Yayasan Mutiara Ubud showcased traditional Balinese dance, receiving positive feedback from the Pertamina Group Management present.

“With the guidance and development programs from Pertamina, we have been able to create opportunities for our well-being at the foundation, both individually and as an organization,” Nengah expressed.

Pertamina, as a leading energy transition company, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These efforts align with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) practices across all Pertamina business lines and operations.
