The lunar New Year celebrations are anticipated to bring a surge in passenger traffic at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, with a recent decline in flight numbers following the extended holidays for Isra Mi’raj and Chinese New Year 2025.

Kombes Pol Ronald FC Cipayung, the Chief of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, revealed that the highest number of flights, totaling 1,058, and passengers, reaching 174,557 pax, were recorded on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Subsequently, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, there were 1,025 flights accommodating 164,685 passengers.

However, Ronald noted a gradual decrease in passenger numbers, with 959 flights and 144,738 pax recorded on Monday, January 27, 2025. He emphasized that the return flow of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is expected to peak on the eve of Chinese New Year 2025, specifically on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

In light of the anticipated influx of travelers, Ronald urged passengers to be vigilant in keeping track of their belongings to prevent mix-ups or forgetfulness. Additionally, he mentioned that Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police has deployed 100 personnel to ensure the safety of the public during the Isra Mi’raj 1446 H and Chinese New Year 2025 holidays.
