Manpower Minister Yassierli decided it was time to bring everyone together, you know, like the government, businesses, and workers, to step up their game and work more closely at the celebration of the 2025 International Workers’ Day.

During a little shindig at Pertamina University in Jakarta, Minister Yassierli spilled the tea, saying, “Let’s all just get along like we are today, try to understand each other’s dreams, and find the best solutions to our problems.”

According to Yassierli, joining forces with all the important folks involved is going to be super crucial in handling the upcoming challenges in the job market and industries. He mentioned that the shaky global economy and other messy situations are totally going to affect these areas.

Dealing with issues like boosting prosperity, improving regulations, and beefing up law enforcement won’t be a walk in the park, especially in a complex country like Indonesia. Yassierli stressed the importance of being ready to face the ever-changing job landscape and future obstacles.

The minister also pointed out the large number of informal workers, like those online motorcycle drivers and delivery folks, who might not be getting the social protection they deserve. He threw in a prediction that the informal workforce will keep growing with all the fancy IT advancements.

Yassierli also talked about the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the push towards green energy that everyone’s been buzzing about. These factors are going to play a big role in ensuring Indonesian workers can keep up and stay competitive.

“We’ve got to tackle these challenges together and team up to find solutions,” he stressed.

In other news, Prabowo made some promises about ratifying ILO Convention 188 to give workers some extra protection. And the minister outlined some government actions to deal with the rising number of layoffs. Can’t say I really get why this all matters, but hey, it’s news.

So, it looks like there’s a lot on the plate for everyone involved in the labor scene in Indonesia. Let’s hope they can all come together, put their heads together, and figure things out. Who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us all with some amazing teamwork.
