Jakarta (ANTARA) – The big boss of the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan, at an Islamic shindig in Kazan, Russia, stressed the need for a super-duper recognized standard for halal products. “Halal is not just about religion anymore, folks. It’s like this cool badge of honor for modern civilization, quality stuff, healthy vibes, cleanliness, good morals, animal love, trustworthiness, and keeping things eco-friendly,” he spilled the beans at the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum 2025 in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia.
According to a statement from his office quoted in Jakarta on Sunday, Hasan urged the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to get on the same page and work together to set up an international halal standard. “Sure, we all have different ideas about what’s halal and what’s not, but hey, let’s start cooking up a global standard that everyone in the OIC can agree on,” he chatted, emphasizing that having a legit international benchmark is key for a booming economy that’s fair and sustainable.
He also argued that “we gotta team up if we wanna be top dogs in the halal game.” Hasan also spilled the tea on Indonesia’s journey, mentioning how the BPJPH was born in 2014 as part of the government’s plan to create a trustworthy halal certification system. On top of that, Hasan brought up SiHalal, a fancy system that Indonesia uses to dish out halal certifications to local and foreign businesses. “Indonesia is shooting for the stars to become a global hotspot for halal goodies. With the BPJPH leading the way, the government is busting its chops to beef up our halal standards and make our products shine on the world stage,” he declared. During the forum, which ran from May 13-18, the head honcho at BPJPH also had some sit-downs with folks from the Saudi Halal Center of Saudi Arabia and RussQuality of Russia.
Alright, so maybe it’s just me, but this whole halal thing seems to be a big deal nowadays, right? Like, Head of the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan was over in Kazan, Russia, talking about how we need to get our act together and come up with one universal standard for halal products. He was all like, “Halal is more than just a religious thing, guys. It’s like the symbol of being hip and modern, standing for quality, health, cleanliness, ethics, animal love, trust, and sustainability.”
In some statement from his office in Jakarta on Sunday, Hasan was like, “Yo, OIC member states, let’s sync up and create a global halal standard that we can all vibe with.” He made it clear that having a legit international benchmark is crucial for a fair and lasting economic growth. Oh, and he also dropped some knowledge about how Indonesia is flexing its muscles in the halal game by setting up the BPJPH back in 2014 to make sure our halal certifications are on point. Plus, he mentioned this cool system called SiHalal that Indonesia is using to hook businesses up with halal certifications. Hasan was all, “Indonesia is on a mission to be the go-to spot for halal products. With the BPJPH leading the charge, the government is putting in the work to level up our halal standards and make our products pop on the global stage.” And besides hobnobbing at the forum from May 13-18, he also had some chit-chats with the Saudi Halal Center of Saudi Arabia and RussQuality of Russia.
So, not really sure why this matters, but Hasan seems pretty jazzed about getting everyone on board with this whole halal standard thing. And hey, if it helps boost the economy and puts Indonesia on the map for halal products, then why not, right?
