Jakarta, 8 Mei 2025 – So, like, PT Pertamina (Persero) decided to spread some love, you know, by giving over Rp 800 million worth of nifty technology tools to 96 Champions and Finalists of the Pertamina UMK Academy 2024. This fantastic donation is part of Pertamina’s efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in leveling up, so they can truly contribute to the progress of the national economy.

According to the Vice President Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, MSMEs play a crucial role in the national economy. “Even though they contribute significantly, MSMEs still face various challenges such as production tools, technology, raw materials, market access, marketing, and promotion. We hope that Pertamina can help meet those needs,” Fadjar said.

Fadjar explained that the Pertamina UMK Academy 2024 lasted for five to six months. The program provided structured, integrated, and sustainable training for participants in four categories: Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global. “With this program, MSMEs are expected to improve their quality and even expand to international markets,” Fadjar added.

One of the grants provided was technological equipment such as laptops. Equipped with advanced tools, MSME players can expand their networks and markets, increase production, and boost income. One way to do this is by creating promotional content and accessing a wider market.

Achmad Em, the Champion from the Go Modern class and also the Founder of Kopi Kalimantan, expressed gratitude for being able to participate in the Pertamina UMK Academy 2024. He considered the program one of the best for MSME players. “I received guidance from the best mentors at the local and national levels. The rewards were also substantial, which had a positive impact on the development of my business,” he shared.

From the Pertamina UMK Academy, Achmad was able to launch six new products. His marketing efforts expanded, and his products became more widely known. Achmad is optimistic that his business will continue to grow, supported by eleven grants from Pertamina.

Ika Bunga Maharani, the owner of the fashion and accessories brand “Exobrooch” and the Champion of the Go Green class, also felt supported by Pertamina’s equipment grant. She was able to improve the quality of her two industrial sewing machines and obtained several tools to help in the accessory production process.

With the equipment, Ika projected that Exobrooch production would double. She could also empower more workers. “I will create job opportunities and training for housewives in the neighborhood,” she stated.

On the other hand, Rina Kartika Dewi, the Champion of the Go Modern class, received grants such as a refrigerator, freezer, stainless steel pot, and a laptop. As the Founder of PT Waroeng Geboy Oke, an MSME frozen cassava with sambal producer, she anticipated an increase in production. She also planned to hire local mothers as workers.

With the various benefits participants received, Pertamina pledged to continue the Pertamina UMK Academy program. “We believe that Indonesian MSMEs can Go International and contribute to the economic growth in their respective regions,” Fadjar Djoko Santoso stated.

As a leading company in the energy transition field, Pertamina is committed to supporting the net zero emission target by 2060 by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All these efforts align with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations. Not really sure why this matters, but there you have it.
