Governor Wayan Koster Emphasizes Government Synergy at Denpasar’s 237th Anniversary Celebration
The 237th anniversary celebration of Denpasar was a momentous occasion marked by Governor Bali, I Wayan Koster, who highlighted the importance of synergy among government officials in Bali. The event took place at Lumintang Field on Thursday, February 27, with Governor Wayan Koster serving as the Ceremony Inspector.
Among the distinguished attendees were Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, Deputy Mayor I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, Chairman of the Denpasar City DPRD I Gusti Ngurah Gede, Denpasar City Secretary Ida Bagus Alit Wiradana, as well as city officials and other invited guests. The VIP guest list included prominent figures like the Chair of TP PKK Denpasar, Ny. Sagung Antari Jaya Negara, Chair of Gatriwara Denpasar, Ny. Purnawati Ngurah Gede, Chair of GOW Denpasar, Ny. Ayu Kristi Arya Wibawa, and more.
The ceremony, held under the theme “Moving Together Towards a Prosperous Denpasar,” commenced with a brief history of Denpasar followed by a performance of Mars Puraddhipa Bhara Bhavana by the Gita Nayara Choir under the auspices of the Denpasar City Government. The event continued with the honoring of the Denpasar City Emblem and the raising of the Indonesian flag.
Furthermore, the anniversary ceremony included the presentation of the Satyalancana Karya Satya award to employees who had served for 10, 20, and 30 years. These accolades were personally presented by Governor Bali, I Wayan Koster, alongside Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara.
Governor Wayan Koster expressed his congratulations on Denpasar’s 237th anniversary, emphasizing that as the capital of Bali Province, Denpasar’s development is a priority in Bali’s development plans. He reiterated the importance of addressing issues in Denpasar, including plans for infrastructure development to alleviate traffic congestion between Denpasar and Badung.
In addition, Governor Wayan Koster encouraged Denpasar to support SMEs, drive the creative economy, and enhance digitalization across various sectors to remain competitive in the current era of globalization. He stressed the need for synergy to ensure the success of all programs, highlighting Bali Province’s readiness to collaborate with Denpasar City Government for a smooth development process.
Meanwhile, Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, stated that Denpasar’s anniversary celebration is an annual event aimed at fostering community loyalty with the slogan “Kotaku, Rumahku” (My City, My Home). This year’s theme, “Moving Together Towards a Prosperous Denpasar,” aims to inspire active community participation based on the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbhakam.
Mayor Jaya Negara reaffirmed his commitment, alongside Deputy Mayor Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa and the entire Denpasar City Government, to address pressing issues such as waste management, traffic congestion, infrastructure, and floods to ensure the city’s sustainable development. He called for public support to realize a Creative City based on Culture towards a Prosperous, Safe, Honest, and Excellent Denpasar.
