Pertamina Gets Down on May Day!

So, like, on May 5, 2025, Pertamina joined in on the International Labor Day (May Day) celebrations. The Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Yassierli, was there, doing his thing.

Yassierli, in his speech, was all about that collaboration vibe, you know? He was like, “It’s all about having a harmonious relationship between workers and company management. Collaboration is key, my dudes,” or something along those lines.

He also gave a shoutout to Pertamina for hosting the event. “Big thanks to Pertamina, the Board of Directors, and Commissioners for being a major player in the May Day 2025 celebrations. Pertamina is gonna be our role model for future collaborations,” Minister Yassierli expressed.

“Let’s all come together and use this May Day moment to work together and solve problems as a team. Collaboration starts with us gathering like we are now and understanding each other’s aspirations to find solutions,” Yassierli explained.

At the same event, Pertamina’s Vice President Director, Wiko Migantoro, was all about how Pertamina actively participating in May Day 2025 was a huge honor. It’s all about building unity to improve the welfare of workers and national productivity, you feel me?

“May Day 2025 is a crucial moment to appreciate and celebrate the hard work of employees for the progress of the nation,” Wiko said. He also emphasized how without workers, businesses wouldn’t run smoothly. Workers play a vital role in maintaining order and expressing their aspirations democratically. Collaboration is key to creating a conducive and productive working environment.

The President of the United Federation of Pertamina Workers (FSPPB), Arie Gumelar, added that FSPPB is all about ensuring the company’s sustainability because they believe that workers and labor unions are essential for keeping the business going.

“Pertamina Workers’ Union is also fighting for Indonesia’s energy sovereignty. We’re still fighting to position Pertamina as a cornerstone of energy self-sufficiency in Indonesia. By fighting for energy sovereignty, we can benefit the people as much as possible,” Arie said.

He also highlighted the significant contribution of labor and workers to Indonesia’s economic growth, whether in the informal sector, formal sector, private sector, or even state-owned enterprises or SOEs.

“Through the spirit of May Day, we hope to build effective communication. Let’s keep strengthening this good relationship and synergy for the progress and prosperity of Indonesia,” Arie added.

The May Day celebration took place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Pertamina Arena, Simprug, Jakarta. The event was attended by the Minister of Housing and Urban Areas of Indonesia, Muarar Sirait, Deputy Minister of Manpower of RI Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, accompanied by Pertamina’s Independent Commissioners Condro Kirono and Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, Pertamina’s HR Director M. Erry Sugiharto, and the Pertamina Group.

Pertamina, as a leading company in energy transition, is committed to supporting the net zero emission target by 2060 by promoting programs that directly impact the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

All these efforts align with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) across all Pertamina’s business lines and operations, man. So, like, that’s the scoop on Pertamina’s May Day shenanigans, folks!
