Body of Woman Found in Suitcase in Ngawi, Stepfather Reveals Victim’s Last Behavior
In a chilling discovery that has shocked the community, the body of a woman was found mutilated and wrapped in a suitcase in Ngawi, East Java. The victim has been identified as Uswatun Khasanah, a 29-year-old resident of Kelurahan Bence, Garum Sub-district, Blitar Regency, East Java.
Unusual Behavior Before Tragic End
Prior to her gruesome death, the victim exhibited strange behavior, as revealed by her stepfather, Hendi Suprapto, 42. According to Hendi, Uswatun left her home in Blitar on Friday, January 17, 2025. However, she was uncontactable on Monday and Tuesday, prompting concern among her family members.
“Hendi disclosed that despite numerous attempts to reach her by phone, she was unreachable until last night when the police informed us about this tragic news,” said Hendi at Dr. Soeroto Ngawi Hospital on Friday, January 24, 2025, as reported by Surya.co.id.
Identification Process and Heartbreaking Details
Hendi recounted the harrowing experience of identifying his stepdaughter’s remains, given the incomplete state of her body, particularly the absence of her head. “We had to ensure whether the corpse belonged to my daughter or not. Upon examining the distinguishing features, we are 90% certain,” shared Hendi.
He further elaborated on the identifying characteristics such as a bracelet, sandals, and a belly piercing, indicating that the victim had been employed in Tulungagung. Hendi also mentioned that Uswatun Khasanah was the eldest of three siblings and a mother of two children aged 7 and 10, having been divorced from her husband for some time.
Desperate Plea for Justice
Expressing his anguish over the gruesome fate that befell his daughter, Hendi appealed for swift justice to be served. “I hope the perpetrator responsible for my daughter’s horrific demise is swiftly apprehended. The brutality and inhumanity of the act demand urgent action,” he added.

The local Police Chief of Garum, Blitar Police Resort, AKP Punjung S, confirmed Uswatun Khasanah’s residency in Blitar.
