PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Hosts Forum UIIA 2024 in Yogyakarta
PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), the Upstream Subholding of Pertamina, successfully organized the Forum Upstream Improvement & Innovation Award (UIIA) 2024 in Yogyakarta from December 11 to 13, 2024. The event aimed to showcase creativity and innovation within the company’s performance improvement initiatives.
Bringing Together Upstream Professionals for Business Growth
The UIIA 2024 event was officially opened by PHE’s CEO, Chalid Said Salim, on Tuesday, December 11. The ceremony featured presentations and demonstrations of work and innovation by PHE’s officers, with the presence of PHE’s Board of Directors, Commissioners, Management, Regional Directors, and Subsidiary Directors under the Upstream Subholding of Pertamina.
VP of Human Capital at PHE, Dewi Kurnia Salwa, highlighted the importance of UIIA as a platform for sharing knowledge on improvement, innovation, and replication within the Upstream Subholding through a series of Continuous Improvement Programs. The goal is to foster collaboration among different functions within the company to generate the best initiatives for business growth and sustainability.
Paving the Way for Energy Resilience
Speaking at the event, PHE’s Chairman of the Board, Rinaldi Firmansyah, emphasized the role of innovation in contributing to national energy security and the country’s development goals. He stressed the importance of enhancing production and reserves of oil and gas, aligning with the national agenda and PHE’s strategic objectives.
Chalid Said Salim, the CEO of PHE, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting national energy security and self-sufficiency. He emphasized the need for innovation and breakthroughs to achieve the vision and mission of the nation.

The Forum UIIA 2024 saw the participation of 119 CIP teams comprising 864 Quality Officers from PHE’s headquarters, regional offices, and service subsidiaries. The event also involved 114 judges, moderators, and 45 organizing committee members.
The event featured various stages of the Continuous Improvement Program, including regional and subholding level forums, culminating in the Annual Pertamina Quality Awards. The Forum UIIA serves as a platform for sharing best practices in improvement, innovation, and replication across different regions and subsidiaries under the Upstream Subholding of Pertamina.
