Jakarta, Indonesia – The Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles has issued an update regarding the devastating wildfires that have impacted Indonesian citizens and members of the Indonesian diaspora in certain areas of Los Angeles County. A total of 97 Indonesians have been affected by the wildfires, with the highest number recorded in Pasadena, followed by Altadena, Sylmar, and Calabasas.

The consulate officials have been actively assisting affected Indonesians with non-emergency consular and immigration services, in addition to providing an emergency hotline for those in need. As of Thursday, January 9, several Indonesians have been evacuated and are currently staying at temporary shelters provided by the local government to ensure their well-being.

According to reports from CNN and RIA Novosti, the coastal Palisades Fire is now at least 11% contained but is moving inland towards Brentwood and other communities near the Getty Center and UCLA. The death toll from the wildfires has tragically increased from 11 to 13, with over ten thousand buildings destroyed in the affected areas.
